On Thursday night, December 8, 2017, Hotelies from across the nation gathered in NYC the New York chapter’s annual holiday party, which took place at the beautiful Pierre Hotel! Delicious bites and tasty cocktails flowed on the brisk December evening.
On November 13th, CHS NYC hosted the 95th annual HX Reception at Current, a fabulous river-front venue at Chelsea Piers. This esteemed annual event provides an opportunity for students, alumni and prominent industry leaders to connect and network while enjoying tasty cocktails and world-class cuisine catered by Abigail Kirsch. Stephen Brandman, CEO of Journal Hotels (Title Sponsor), spoke about his new venture and shared an exhilarating short film highlighting Journal Hotels’ portfolio. On October 20, 2017, the CHS New York chapter held their Ninth Annual Big Apple Update. The luncheon was hosted by Scott Nadeau ’77, General Manager of the Marriott Marquis. On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, the New York City chapter hosted a Microsoft Excel Workshop & Happy Hour event at a We Works in Manhattan. The seminar was led by Hotel School professor Mark McCarthy ’86. Following a brush-up on the skills learned during freshman Business Computing, the group gathered to network and enjoy some light bites and beverages.
On July 27th, CHS NYC Chapter organized a special tour and rooftop happy hour at the brand new 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. The hotel is a waterfront retreat, with expansive views of the East River and Manhattan skyline. It is designed by local artists using native greenery and reclaimed materials.
On March 30, sixty-five Hotelies gathered to listen to a panel of industry authorities discuss how restaurants are leveraging new technologies to enhance their bottom lines. The presentation was an intimate conversation between operators, startup leaders, and data experts. The event was held at the Beekman Hotel.
