Third Annual Berlin Lodging Outlook and 100th Anniversary Dinner

On Friday July 1, 2022, the German Chapter of CHS held its third annual Berlin Lodging Outlook conference at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski.  The event consisted of four professional presentations and a panel discussion.  Topics included a market overview, labor shortages, and leadership diversity.

Following the seminar, the CHS chapter held a dinner celebrating the SHA 100th anniversary.  A silent auction was held to benefit the CHS EMEA scholarship fund.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second Annual Berlin Lodging Outlook

On Friday, August 27, 2021, the CHS Germany chapter hosted its second annual Berlin Lodging Outlook.  The theme for this year’s seminar was “What Does the Future of the Hotel Industry Look Like?”  The event was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.  CHS Germany Chapter President, Gabriele Maessen, served as moderator for the event and provided welcome comments.

Hotelies Join Other Ivy Leaguers At Van Gogh Exhibit

On Thursday, January 30, 2020, several Hotelies joined other Ivy League alumni at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt to view the “Legend of Van Gogh” exhibit. After the exhibit the group met for drinks and dinner at “Zum Gemalten Haus”, a traditional Apelwein restaurant in Sachsenhausen.

CHS Germany Meets in Frankfurt

We welcomed Cornellians and guests of one extended patchworc „ family at the occasion of the Hotelforum goes Heimtextil at the Lengley Lindenberg in Frankfurt on January 8, 2020 for one CHS Get Together and Site Inspection.

The Site Inspection showed us one very special and unique concept of guest-community with various outlets for each member (guest ) including Indoor-Farming with herb garden, vegetarian restaurant and other public rooms, designed also for longstays.

Filled with owned fresh baked bred and homemade cider and one delicious ten course vegetarian dinner and cozy conversation as only Hotelie’s and their „patchworc“ can imagine.

A special thanks to Nils Jansen for hosting and providing us with interesting news of this new concept and relevant activities of their successful guest-community and connected providers for natural products from the region in Frankfurt as well local partners in Sierra Leone and India.

We where pleased by the donation of the contribution for the Dinner by Andreas Martin VP of Hotelforum and the participation of our Sponsor Philipp Von Bodmann Managing Partner of Achat Hotels in Germany.

During the exciting get-together the open discussions turned around the new challenges coming up for our industry during the Interior, Architecture, Hospitalty by the Heimtextil.

According our Motto „ Hotelie for Life „ we looking forward to meet you again in other exciting locations or fairs and with best wishes for you all in 2020.

CHS Germany Get Together

On December 3, 2019, the CHS Germany chapter welcomed Cornellians and guests to the Flagship of Premier Inn in Frankfurt for a CHS Get Together and Site Inspection.

Filled with superb appetizers, snacks, wine from Villa Banfi and cozy conversation as only Hotelie’s can imagine.

A special thanks to Kerstin Gibert for hosting and providing us with interesting news of the spectacular expansion activities of Premier Inn in Germany.

We were pleased to welcome one new Cornellian in town, Inge van Ooteghem COO of Premier Inn in Germany.

During the nice get-together the open dicussions turned around the challenges of the take over of two dozen hotels in very short time and consequently the defiances in the sales with all new techniques.

On Friday, October 18, 2019, the CHS German Chapter a symposium at the Platzl Hotel in Munich.  The afternoon event featured several panels and speakers, and concluded with a networking dinner.

German Chapter Tours HafenCity in Hamburg

Members of the German Chapter enjoyed dinner and a tour of the innovative HafenCity in Hamburg. The Hotelies visited the 25 Hours Hotel Hafencity, the Ameron Hotel Speicherstadt, and the Westin Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. Thanks to Tobias Brown PDP’96 and Andreas Martin PDP’98 for organizing the event.
