Committed to creating the world’s most engaging network for industry-defining alumni, CHS is the official alumni organization of the School of Hotel Administration and the premier hospitality network created by alumni for alumni.
The Cornell Hotel Society (CHS) is an engaged network of dynamic, imaginative leaders sharing tradition, friendship, passions, and ideas. CHS believes that Life is Service and is inspired to create enriching experiences for others, celebrating what it means to be a Hotelie for life.

Our organization is a registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit. In the United States, your membership dues payments are recognized as a charitable contribution. Please check your respective tax laws.
All graduates of the Nolan School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University are automatically recognized as a regular member of CHS (BS, MMH, Baker (MPS), and PhD degree recipients).
Affiliate membership is afforded to those who complete the General Manager’s Program (GMP),at least four (4) Professional Development Courses (PDP) or graduates of the IMHI program. Learn more about Affiliate membership!

Support for
CHS assists its 53 global chapters with financial support to program activities for local alumni.
CHS, in conjunction with SHA, funds the “Faculty Roadshow” which supports trips for faculty members to present at local chapter events around the world

In 2017, CHS pledged $250,000 in SHA scholarship funds over the next five years, which triggered another $75,000 in matching funds from the SC Johnson challenge.

CHS supports the budget of the CHS Collegiate Chapter (CHS-CC). During the year, the CHS-CC organizes such events as new student orientation sessions, homecoming celebrations, alumni coffee chats, and the senior sendoff.
CHS funds two annual Philippus Miller III ‘83 Legacy Awards. The awards are given to students that demonstrate an understanding of the importance of connecting and giving back. Winners receive financial support to attend CHS events around the world and experience the global Hotelie network.
CHS funds the annual $10,000 Philippus Miller III CHS Hotelie for Life ® Senior Prize which is given to the senior class’s “best all-around student…one who best demonstrates and embraces what it means to be a Hotelie for Life ®.”

CHS provides all SHA graduates with a complimentary membership during their first year after graduation.
CHS has been a conduit to provide factual, constructive, two-way communication between alumni and University officials during the implementation of the College of Business.
The appearance of a strong alumni association is needed to show the University that Hotelies are many and engaged. While we are all Hotelies for Life®, the University tends to measure our strength by the number of CHS dues paid members.

CHS dues support the development and maintenance of The Lobby, the exclusive online professional and social community just for Hotelies.
In the future, Dues Paid Members will have exclusive access to select components of The Lobby, like the recruitment and job posting pages.
