The topic of the panel was “New Entrants to the South Florida Hospitality Industry.” Hotel School alum Max Comess ’07 from HFF moderated the panel as they discussed why now is a great time to be a newcomer in Miami’s vibrant lodging industry. Panelists included:

  • Ryan Shear – Principal, Property Markets Group
  • Chris Sariego – COO, Brightline
  • Jamila Ross & Akino West – Owners, The Copper Door B&B
  • Gui Jaroschy – F&B Director and Concept Creator, Generator Hostels

We had approximately 65 people in attendance, representing a wide range of hospitality professionals, lawyers, and students from the University of Miami and Florida International University. We had the generous sponsorship of HFF, Brown and Brown Insurance, and CBRE. Our chapter raised approximately $2,000 to put towards our South Florida student scholarship.
