On November 30, 2018 the CHS Chicago Chapter hosted its 2nd annual Holiday Party and Wine Tasting with Cornell’s Cheryl Stanley ‘00. Taryn Rosenthal Kelly ’00 hosted us at Sopraffina Marketcaffe for another great turnout of the Chicago Chapter.

The Cornell Hotel Society Chicago Chapter joined SHA students, Richard Adie ‘75, and Ravinder Kingra MMH’12 for dinner on January 18, 2018. Local alums Jennifer Perna ‘92, Steven Stern ‘07, Sophia Lin Kanno ‘05, and Stacey Nadolny ‘05 enjoyed a lively dinner with the group at Chicago’s iconic Greek Islands. The eight students spent the week touring Chicago as part of the Hotel Leadership Development Program. Thank you to all of the local alums that provided their time and resources this week for the HLDP students!!

On Friday, November 3, 2017 the CHS Chicago Chapter hosted a wine tasting featuring wine from the Finger Lakes region. The event was held at the Roanoke Restaurant. Leading the tasting of six regional wines was Professor Cheryl Stanley ’00.

On August 13, 2017, the CHS Chicago Chapter held their annual Summer BBQ event. Thanks to Steve Haggerty ‘90 and Elleke Haggerty ‘91 for again hosting the event at their beautiful home. Those who attended enjoyed a fantastic afternoon connecting with fellow Hotelies, friends, and little Hotelies-to-be.

On May 22, 2017, the Chicago chapter hosted their annual reception in conjunction with National Restaurant Association convention. The event was held at The Rookery Room of the Kimpton Gray Hotel.
Dean Kate Walsh MPS ’90 traveled from Ithaca to address the group and provide an update on school activities. A silent auction was also held to raise monies for the CHS Chicago scholarship fund.
